Door Options
With more than 65 different Door Styles and 38 colors to chose from we offer our customers the freedom to customize their cabinet doors to their specific needs with our selection of a wide range of styles, material and colors. At The Proficient Cabinets, our goal is to help our customers create their dream kitchen at a very affordable price.

Thermofoil Doors
Boasting easy-to-clean, durable, wood-like finishes, rigid thermofoils (RTF) are a popular cabinet choice with many homeowners. Unlike laminates, RTF can be shaped into a variety of styles including raised panel, cathedral, and arched doors. Thermofoil doors are manufactured using a fibre particle base which has been developed to support this type of finish. The lustrous finish of these doors, smooth and dense, is made possible due to a specialized and continually evolving glueing technique.

Wood Doors
The beauty of natural wood surfaces is indisputable. While wood cabinet doors are expensive (they can run as much as 25 percent more than either thermofoil or laminate finishes), you can choose from a number of styles, designs and wood types, such as Maple, Cherry, Oak, Mahogany, Pine, Poplar, Walnut, Poplar, Ash and others.

Laminate Doors
AFor those customers who desire that their cabinets pack a visual impact but are not willing or able to invest in the option of wood doors, a laminate cabinet finish could be the answer. Less expensive than wood, plastic laminate cabinet finishes come in a wide variety of colors. However, because they cannot be molded or shaped, they are available in a limited number of styles. Plastic laminates are potentially an ideal choice if your kitchen design calls for a simple, but colorful, cabinet finish.

Melamine Doors
One of the advantages of this type of door is that it is practically maintenance-free. Natural wood doors, depending upon their finishes, are subject to “working” in varying temperatures and humidity. Melamine doors however, only need a quick wipe with a damp cloth to get them looking their best. While considered an entry-level option, Melamine doors, if carefully maintained and utilized, can certainly endure a number of years while maintaining good condition.

With so many cabinet doors finishes to choose from, it's easy to find a look you'll love with a price tag you can live with.
